Being a strong minded woman means I won't compromise what's in my heart. It means I live my life my way. It means I won't allow anyone to step on me
I cannot predict the future, i cannot change the past, I have just this moment... I will live it like my last

Life? What is it? It is one hard journey. You live, you learn, you screw up, you learn. I don't know if anyone will actually see and really look at my little old school blog but I enjoy sharing. My mind squirrels at times so I love to just post random stuff that I like. I hope that something I post touches you or helps you in some way. We are in this road called "Life" together :-) Let's help one another and practice some kindness along the way! #justagirlwithadogandablog

My Inspiration for Today- Throwing out all my unmatched socks LOL
Do you ever wonder how you get so many unmatched socks? It makes me wonder-- what does the washing machine do to my socks? I had a whole basket of mismatched ones :-( and I have all my laundry caught up. So question, where did they go?? so I was feeling "inspirational" today and threw away the whole basket. I than went out and bought all new ones LOL. My newest goal will be to keep my socks matched!!

A little inspiration combined with humor about Moms
WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:
Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.
How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.
What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.
Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's mom like me.
What kind of a little girl was your mom?
1. My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.
What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?
Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mom eats a lot
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that mom didn't have her thinking cap on.
Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.
What's the difference between moms and dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friends.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.
What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.
If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.
Happy Sunday :-) Hope you enjoyed

Inspiration for anyone fighting Cystic Fibrosis
This one goes out to one of my best girlfriends tonight.
Have you ever been around people that just complain about the dumbest things all the time and act as life is awful all the time when they really don't have it that bad than you are around someone else who really does have real life big problems but yet always try to find the positive in everything and have the best dispositions still? (even when they have legitimate stuff to complain about and be upset about, they don't) I don't get it!!. My heart goes out tonight to my girlfriend, her husband and their daughter. God has put alot on their plates in the last 20 years (two children with cystic fibrosis). They have overcome so much and surely have not had it easy in any way but have the best marital relationship I have ever seen and are the most loving and fun people to be around. I have no words to describe them, I just admire and love them so much! I have never in my life known people just as real, true and genuine as them. I am so glad that God blessed me in 2011 and brought them into my life. I have learned so much from them and I'm so proud to call them they my friends
My friend's daughter was admitted to the hospital yesterday with another bout of pneumonia. She fights Cystic Fibrosis everyday. This coming friday is her 14th birthday and we were supposed to have an awesome birthday bash for her at Lunar golf and a slumber party but have to postpone :-(
Just asking everyone to keep her in your prayers

Little Inspiration and Giggle for today (For the over 40 Crowd)
The over 40 crowd will appreciate this :-)
Hilarious! Growing up without a cell phone
If you are 36, or older, you might think this is hilarious!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning....Uphill... Barefoot...BOTH ways...yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that I'm over the ripe old age of forty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!
1) I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
2) There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox, and it would take like a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!
3) Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!
4) There were no MP3's or Napsters or iTunes! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!
5) Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio, and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished, and then the tape would come undone rendering it useless. Cause, hey, that's how we rolled, Baby! Dig?
6) We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called, they got a busy signal, that's it!
7) There weren't any freakin' cell phones either. If you left the house, you just didn't make a damn call or receive one. You actually had to be out of touch with your "friends". OH MY GOSH!!! Think of the horror... not being in touch with someone 24/7!!! And then there's TEXTING. Yeah, right. Please! You kids have no idea how annoying you are.
8) And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your parents, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, the collection agent... you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
9) We didn't have any fancy PlayStation or Xbox video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your screen guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen.. Forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
10) You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel!!! NO REMOTES!!! Oh, no, what's the world coming to?!?!
11) There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying? We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little @#$%&!
12) And we didn't have microwaves. If we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove! Imagine that!
13) And our parents told us to stay outside and play... all day long. Oh, no, no electronics to soothe and comfort. And if you came back inside... you were doing chores!
And car seats - oh, please! Mom threw you in the back seat and you hung on. If you were lucky, you got the "safety arm" across the chest at the last moment if she had to stop suddenly, and if your head hit the dashboard, well that was your fault for calling "shot gun" in the first place!
See! That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled rotten! You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1970 or any time before!
Regards,

A little Baltimore Ravens Inspiration today
OK- So yesterday was an upset here in Baltimore :-( Our Baltimore Ravens lost the AFC playoff game to the Patriots. I was thinking today would be a good day to post a little Ravens inspiration and a little Ravens funny too. We still love our Ravens. Next year is a new year. You win some, you lose some (unfortunately, that's a fact of life) Enjoy
I really liked that last one because it is the Maryland Crab and Baltimore Ravens all put into one
OK so now I have to add a little humor too- Here ya go
Nice run Ravens!!!

My Inspiration for the Day
Usually Jan 13th is my least favorite day of the year (anniversary of my brother's death) but I actually had a good day today and wasn't sad. Maybe because I emailed my mom this morning to let her know that I was thinking of her and I loved her and hard to believe that it had been 24 years and she left me a beautiful message back and she wasn't sad :-) Now that I am older and have a child of my own, I could never imagine the pain she went through back than. If anything ever happened to my baby girl, I don't think I could survive it. My mom has overcome so much and is still one of the sweetest, most thoughtful people that you could ever meet. She's so strong. She is the one person that I truly admire. If it wasn't for her and her awesome qualities, I wouldn't be the person that I am today. I give Thanks everyday for my Mom :-)

What exactly is joy in life?
To me, true joy is
*Something that makes my heart lighter or makes me smile to myself
*A commitment to smile and to love life no matter waht
*Things and people that give me a sense of peace
*Having a sense of wonder in the world, feeling humbled and confident at the same time
Learning to just really enjoy life gives me a sense of power and such overwhelming confidence in myself and my abilities

The distance I have come in 2 years
Wow, I am reading back over this blog (that I started back in May, 2010) Almost 2 years ago and I am just amazed at how far emotionally and how much stronger I have become. When I first started this blog, I wasn't in a great spot mentally. In fact, when I go back now and read some of my posts, I'm almost embarrassed LOL. Some of them were probably a bit over the top and I actually thought about deleting some of them but opted against it. Why? Because I started a self help journey with this blog and they were my thoughts back than. As I read them, I see how much I have achieved and it brings me a certain sense of accomplishment. It also helps me to see how I am the only one that can make my life better and I have done that. I am the only one that can allow myself to be happy. I have started 2012 feeling really good about myself :-)
One thing that has really helped me is reading positive inspirational thoughts and funny jokes. I just love them. They help to guide me and to make me laugh. When you laugh, it makes you feel good.
Life is a journey and it is all what you make of it.
Hope everyone has an awesome 2012. As I find quotes that I really find to be a little inspirational thought, I will continue to post.
TTFN!!

Always respect yourself because if you don't respect and take yourself seriously, how will anyone else?
