And truthfully, it was exhausting.

What to wear, not to wear, what to say or do..

I got to a point where I lost who I was in trying to make everyone else happy.

That’s when a beautiful friend told me one day to let go of all the things I wasn’t and start becoming all the things I am meant to be.

I was perplexed, confused..and relieved.

I couldn’t be what everyone thought I should be and simply be happy.

That’s not real and I’m not settling for everyone else’s opinion of my happiness.

No, I’m better than that and I’m meant for so much more.

Anyone can be beautiful, you know?

Your hairstyle, your clothes, your outward appearance..sure, those are attractive..

But not in the ways that truly matter.

I’m leaving all that superficial shallowness behind because I want more for myself, more for my life.

Why settle for being just like everyone else ?

I’m not.

I’m stepping out of the labels and expectations and I’m blazing my own trail.

I will be beautiful in the most amazing ways that will rock a world full of fake.

I’m going to be bold, strong and confident each and every day...

In my words, in how I love and what I do.

Forget a life of merely existing.

I want to be on fire for life, love and the people I care about.

So that’s exactly what I plan to be:

Independent, fiery and original.

I want to look in the mirror each and every day and know that I’m living life to the fullest-

Fiercely passionate and lovingly confident.

I’ll be brave enough to be real in a world full of copies.

I’m going to redefine beauty with a courage all my own.

My life, my voice, my way.

I’m never again going to allow myself to run with the rest when I’m destined to fly high.
