Soft Heart, Sharp Edges, and Zero Interest in Being Easily Defined

Ah yes, the classic dilemma: you don’t fit neatly into a box, and suddenly people act like you’re the problem instead of the packaging.

“A little feral. A little odd.”
Translation: You have a personality that isn’t watered down for public comfort.

“A little hard to categorize.”
Meaning: You refuse to shrink yourself into something bite-sized and easy for people who only skim.

And that last line?
“But my heart? It’s the realest thing about me.”
Oh, that part tends to confuse people the most.

Because apparently, if you’re a little wild around the edges, you’re not supposed to also be genuine, loyal, and emotionally real. You’re supposed to pick a lane. Preferably one that makes other people feel less intimidated and more in control of how they label you.

But you didn’t come with a label. You came with layers.

You can be a little chaotic and still deeply kind.
You can be hard to read and still incredibly sincere.
You can have a vibe that says “approach with caution” and a heart that says “I’d still show up for you at 2am.”

And let’s be honest—some people don’t struggle to categorize you because you’re confusing…
They struggle because you don’t fit into the version of you that’s easiest for them to handle.

That’s not your job.

Your job isn’t to be easily understood by people who barely take the time to understand themselves. Your job isn’t to dim the weird, soften the edges, or translate your soul into something more “palatable.”

Your job is to be real.

Even if that means being a little feral.
A little odd.
A little “not for everyone.”

Because the right people?
They’re not trying to categorize you.
They’re trying to understand you.

And the rest?

They can stay confused.
