Ah yes... the good old days.
You know... back when our knees didn't sound like microwave popcorn every time we stood up.
Back when we could stay out until 2:00 a.m., survive on three hours of sleep, and somehow function without needing an emotional support coffee.
But let's be honest...
Were those really the good old days?
We had questionable fashion choices.
We thought frosted tips, over-plucked eyebrows, low-rise jeans, or wearing socks with sandals (looking at you, Dad) were perfectly acceptable life decisions.
We dated people who should've come with warning labels.
We made decisions based on "It'll probably be fine."
Spoiler alert: It was, in fact, not fine. 😂
The truth is, we don't miss being young nearly as much as we miss having fewer responsibilities and a metabolism that deserved its own superhero movie.
Getting older has its perks, though.
You care less about fitting in and more about protecting your peace.
You stop chasing people who clearly packed their running shoes.
You realize that saying "No" is a complete sentence.
And you finally understand that sleep is a luxury, not a punishment.
Sure, our backs randomly go out now... but so does our tolerance for drama.
I'd call that personal growth.
So here's to getting older—not because everything was better back then, but because we've collected enough life lessons (and embarrassing stories) to know better now.
Although... if someone could invent a cream that works on laugh lines, creaky joints, and poor decisions from 1998...
Take my money. 😏
💬 Be honest... what's one thing from the "good old days" you're glad stayed in the past... and one thing you'd bring back in a heartbeat?
