Well, this is awkward.
All these years, people have been saying, “Just my two cents…”
And apparently we’ve been handing those opinions out so freely that somebody finally said:
ENOUGH. GET RID OF THE PENNIES. 😂
Honestly, though, we humans LOVE giving our two cents.
Nobody asked?
Doesn't matter.
Don't know the entire story?
Minor detail.
Have absolutely no experience with the subject whatsoever?
EVEN BETTER. Pull up a chair. 🤣
Social media has basically turned into one giant neighborhood meeting where everybody has grabbed the microphone and nobody knows where the OFF button is.
You post that you bought a new car:
"You should've bought a Toyota."
You paint your kitchen blue:
"Gray would've increased the resale value."
You say you're going on vacation:
"Must be nice."
You announce you're eating healthier:
"Actually, according to this article I didn't read..."
😂😂😂
And don't even THINK about posting anything involving parenting, relationships, money, politics, food, pets, homeownership—or whether pineapple belongs on pizza.
People don't have two cents anymore.
They've got a whole damn roll of pennies ready to launch. 💀
But here's the useful part hiding underneath the sarcasm:
Not every opinion deserves space in your head.
Advice from someone you respect? Listen.
Constructive feedback? Consider it.
Random unsolicited commentary from somebody who doesn't know your circumstances, your goals or the whole story?
You are under absolutely no contractual obligation to make a withdrawal from that particular bank of wisdom. 😂
Sometimes the healthiest response is simply:
"Interesting."
And then continue doing exactly what you were doing.
So if pennies really do disappear someday, don't worry.
I'm pretty sure unsolicited opinions will remain in circulation forever.
Those suckers appear to be recession-proof. 😂🪙
