Be careful who you feel sorry for. Some people are good at lying and playing the victim. They know exactly how to twist words, rewrite stories, and use tears as a weapon to make you doubt your own judgment. They’ll play innocent, act like they’ve been wronged, and make you believe they’re the ones who got hurt—when in reality, they’re the ones causing the pain.

These kinds of people thrive on sympathy because it gives them power. The more you feel sorry for them, the more they manipulate you into carrying the guilt that isn’t even yours. They’ll talk about loyalty while betraying you behind your back. They’ll talk about honesty while hiding their true intentions.

Not everyone who cries deserves comfort, and not everyone who looks broken is a victim. Some people are masters at acting—they wear pain like a mask to get what they want. Protect your peace, trust your instincts, and don’t let guilt make you blind. Because sometimes, the one you’re defending is the same one destroying you.
