You know what I've come to admire more and more as I get older? People who leave others feeling better than they found them.
Not the ones with the fanciest cars, biggest houses, perfect appearances, or impressive job titles.
I'm talking about the people who make you feel comfortable being yourself. The ones who listen without judging, encourage without competing, and celebrate your wins without secretly hoping you'll fail.
THOSE are my kind of people. ❤️
Let's face it, life can be a whole circus sometimes, and we're all just trying to get through it without losing our minds or ending up on an episode of Snapped. 😂
The last thing anyone needs is another person making them question their worth.
I've learned that you can be honest without being cruel. You can disagree without disrespecting someone. You can set boundaries without being hateful. And you can be successful without making someone else feel small.
Imagine that! Being a decent human being without needing a standing ovation! 👏😂
Here's something else I've learned along the way...
Not everyone who enters your life will leave you better. Some will teach you lessons you never signed up for, test patience you didn't know you had, and make you question how certain adults have survived this long without supervision. 🤦♀️
But even those experiences teach us something.
They teach us the importance of choosing who gets access to our energy, protecting our peace, and becoming the kind of person we wish we'd encountered during our own difficult chapters.
And here's the beautiful part...
You don't have to change someone's entire life to make a difference.
Sometimes it's a genuine compliment. A conversation without judgment. A little encouragement. A simple "I'm proud of you." Or just listening when someone desperately needs to be heard.
You never know what someone is carrying behind the smile they show the world.
So be kind. Be genuine. Be someone people feel safe around.
But remember, being a good person doesn't mean being everyone's doormat. You can have a soft heart, strong boundaries, and absolutely NO tolerance for disrespect. All three can coexist beautifully. 😉
At the end of the day, people may forget what you wore, what you drove, or how much money you made.
But they'll remember whether your presence brought them peace or made their life heavier.
And if you can walk through this world leaving a little more kindness, laughter, and love behind you than you found?
Well, that's a life beautifully lived. ❤️
Food for thought: When people walk away from an interaction with you, do they feel better about themselves... or do they feel like they need to recover from you? 👀
Because THAT says a whole lot about the kind of person we are.
❤️ Be the reason someone still believes good people exist.
