Dear Little You... We Actually Did It (And We Didn't Even Need Their Validation)

Somewhere inside you is a little girl who thought grown-ups had all the answers.

She imagined adulthood would mean confidence, unlimited snacks, a spotless house, and magically understanding taxes.

Poor kid.

Instead, she got bills, awkward doctor's appointments, mystery body aches, and the realization that "I'll do it tomorrow" has somehow become a personality trait.

But here's what she also got...

A woman who kept going.

A woman who survived things she never should have had to survive.

A woman who learned that protecting her peace isn't being rude—it's called having standards.

A woman who discovered that "No" is a complete sentence, and not everyone deserves a front-row seat to her life.

Let's be honest for a second...

The little girl in you isn't disappointed because you don't own a mansion or have your entire life color-coded in a planner.

She's amazed that you're still standing after everything you've carried.

She's proud that you learned to stop shrinking just to make insecure people comfortable.

She's cheering because you finally realized that your worth isn't measured by how much you sacrifice for people who wouldn't return the favor.

And she'd probably like to point out that the people who underestimated you are awfully quiet these days.

Funny how that works.

Would she recognize the woman you've become?

Maybe not at first.

You're stronger than she imagined.
Wiser than she expected.
A little more sarcastic.
A lot less willing to tolerate nonsense.

But she'd absolutely recognize your heart.

She'd see the kindness you never lost.
The resilience you earned.
The courage you built one difficult day at a time.

So today, give yourself some credit.

Celebrate every healed wound, every boundary you finally enforced, every lesson that came wrapped in disappointment, and every chapter you survived when quitting would've been easier.

Because the little girl inside you isn't asking whether you've become perfect.

She's smiling because you became someone who never gave up.

And honestly?

She thinks you're pretty incredible.

Even if you still have to Google how long leftovers are good for.
