"I'm not mad... I'm done."
There comes a point in life where your silence isn't because you've run out of words.
It's because you've run out of reasons.
People often mistake "being done" for holding a grudge.
They're not the same thing.
Being mad means you're still emotionally invested.
Being done means you've finally accepted that not every battle deserves your energy, not every relationship deserves unlimited chances, and not every person deserves front-row seats in your life.
That's called growth.
Some people think boundaries are cruel because they benefited from you having none.
Read that again.
Not everyone misses you.
Some people simply miss having access to your kindness, your forgiveness, your time, your listening ear, your endless second chances... and your inability to say, "Enough."
Here's the thing...
Loving people shouldn't feel like a full-time job with overtime and no paycheck.
Friendship shouldn't be one person always reaching out.
Relationships shouldn't leave you wondering if you'd disappear tomorrow, would they even notice by next Tuesday?
If you're constantly watering a plant that never grows...
...it might not be your watering schedule.
Now, let's sprinkle in just enough sarcasm to season the truth.
Some people have a PhD in taking.
Taking your time.
Taking your energy.
Taking your patience.
Taking your forgiveness.
But ask them for the bare minimum...
Suddenly they're "busy."
Amazing how that works. 🙃
Here's what people don't always understand:
Choosing peace isn't giving up.
Walking away isn't weakness.
Stopping the chase isn't being cold.
It's realizing your heart wasn't designed to drag people across the finish line who refuse to take a single step toward you.
You can't force effort.
You can't beg for consistency.
And you certainly can't convince someone to value you if they've already shown you they don't.
At some point, self-respect has to become louder than your desire to keep the peace.
Because peace without boundaries isn't peace...
It's exhaustion wearing a smile.
So no...
You're not angry.
You simply stopped volunteering for emotional overtime.
You're protecting your heart instead of explaining it.
You're choosing calm over chaos.
You're making room for people who reciprocate instead of people who merely tolerate.
And that's not being bitter.
That's finally learning that your peace is too valuable to keep handing out discounts.
✨ Remember: Some chapters don't end with a dramatic goodbye. They end the moment you realize your peace is worth more than proving your worth to people who never appreciated it in the first place.
Question of the Day: Have you ever reached the point where you weren't angry anymore... you were simply done? What lesson did that season teach you? 💙👇
