I heard this quote recently and, not gonna lie… it resonated. 😂
“You can remove the skunk, but the stench stays.”
And isn’t that the damn truth?
Sometimes you can remove the person, the situation, the drama, the toxic relationship, the bad habit, or whatever particular flavor of bullshit has been stinking up your life…
But the aftermath doesn’t magically disappear.
The lesson stays.
The memories stay.
Sometimes the trust issues stay.
Sometimes you catch yourself thinking, “Oh, absolutely not. I’ve smelled this shit before.” 😂
But here's the good news:
The smell eventually fades.
You just have to stop reopening the door and asking the skunk if it would like to come back in. 🤣
Healing isn't pretending it never happened.
It's learning from it, cleaning up the mess, opening some damn windows, and eventually realizing…
“Wow. It doesn't stink in here anymore.” 💨😂
And THAT is growth.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is remove the source, give yourself time, and let fresh air back into your life.
Because not everything that left a smell behind deserves another chance to come back and stink up the place.
Some skunks belong in the past. 🦨✌️
