She Stopped Trying to Be Perfect and Started Being Real

There is a certain kind of woman you can feel before you really know her.

You don't have to wonder where you stand with her.

You don't have to decode every sentence.

You don't have to perform, impress, or pretend you've got your entire life figured out.

Because her presence feels like exhaling.

She's peace.
She's safety.
She's real.

And maybe that's because she finally learned something that took her entirely too long to figure out:

Being exactly who you are feels damn good.

Not the polished version.

Not the version that makes everybody comfortable.

Not the version that says, "Oh, I'm fine!" while internally having approximately seventeen tabs open and all of them are screaming.

I'm talking about the real version.

The woman who has made mistakes.

The woman who has bad days.

The woman who sometimes overthinks, sometimes gets it wrong, sometimes says too much, sometimes doesn't say enough, and occasionally looks at her own life and thinks...

"Well, this certainly wasn't in the brochure." 😂

She's not perfect.

Thank God.

Because perfect isn't relatable.

Perfect doesn't know what to do with somebody else's mess.

Perfect sits three feet away from the ugly parts and says, "Have you tried making better choices?"

Real?

Real pulls up a chair.

Real says, "Okay. Tell me what happened."

She'll sit with your mess and your magic.

She'll celebrate your wins without secretly competing with you.

She'll listen to your heartbreak without making it about herself.

She'll tell you the truth when you need the truth—and love you enough not to weaponize it.

And she doesn't need you to be perfect either.

She just needs you to be honest.

Because she's learned that honesty is so much more valuable than appearances.

She'd rather have a messy truth than a beautiful lie.

A genuine apology than a thousand excuses.

A real conversation than passive-aggressive silence.

A little weirdness than a whole lot of pretending.

And here's the beautiful part:

She didn't become this woman because life was easy.

She became her because life wasn't.

She's been disappointed.

She's been hurt.

She's trusted the wrong people.

She's probably stayed too long in places that drained her.

She's had moments where she questioned herself, her choices, her worth, and whether she was somehow the problem for simply wanting something better.

And somewhere along the way, she realized:

"Wait a minute. I actually like myself."

That realization?

Game changer.

Because when you stop needing everybody to approve of you, you become very difficult to manipulate.

When you stop needing to be understood by everyone, you stop exhausting yourself explaining every little thing.

When you stop trying to fit into spaces that require you to shrink, you start finding spaces where you can actually breathe.

And when you finally become comfortable with yourself?

You stop confusing chaos with connection.

You stop chasing people who make you question your worth.

You stop begging for crumbs from tables you should've never been sitting under in the first place.

You stop apologizing for having boundaries.

And you stop feeling guilty for protecting your peace.

Now, does she still have her moments?

Oh, absolutely.

She's still a work in progress.

She can still be stubborn.

She can still overthink.

She can still occasionally make questionable decisions with the confidence of a woman who apparently forgot every lesson she's ever learned. 😂

But she's honest about it.

She doesn't pretend to have all the answers.

She's just no longer pretending to be someone she's not.

And maybe that's why people feel something when they're around her.

Because authenticity has a frequency of its own.

You can feel when someone isn't performing.

You can feel when someone's kindness isn't transactional.

You can feel when someone's love doesn't come with a hidden invoice.

You can feel when someone has walked through their own darkness and decided they weren't going to become darkness themselves.

Those are the women who carry light differently.

Not because they've never been broken.

Because they've been broken and still chose to shine.

Maybe that's the purpose.

Maybe some souls go through enough darkness that they become really good at recognizing it in others.

Maybe they learn how to sit beside someone else's pain without trying to fix it.

Maybe they understand that sometimes people don't need a lecture.

They need someone to sit beside them and say:

"You're not alone."

And maybe being a little fucked up yourself is part of the qualification. 😉

Because you don't need to have a spotless life to bring light into someone else's.

You just need a good heart.

A little self-awareness.

A whole lot of honesty.

And the willingness to keep growing.

So here's to the women who stopped trying to be perfect.

The women who became softer without becoming weaker.

The women who built boundaries without building walls.

The women who can laugh at themselves.

The women who have scars but don't make everyone else bleed because of them.

The women who can say, "I don't have it all figured out, but I'm finally comfortable being me."

Those women are something special.

And if you're becoming one of them...

Keep going.

You don't need to shine for everybody.

You don't need to be understood by everybody.

You don't need to be liked by everybody.

Just keep being honest.

Keep being kind.

Keep doing your healing.

Keep protecting your peace.

Keep laughing at the ridiculousness of life.

Keep loving the people who love you back.

And keep carrying that light.

Because somewhere out there, somebody who's been sitting in the dark may need to see it.

And maybe that's exactly why you have it.
