🧠 THE OVERTHINKER’S GUIDE TO NOT OVERTHINKING

Yesterday: “I’m going to stop overthinking everything.”

Today: spends three hours analyzing how to stop overthinking.

Progress? Technically.
Productive? Absolutely not. 😂

If your brain has ever taken a simple situation and turned it into a full-length documentary, welcome. You’re among friends.

Overthinking will have you:

  • Replaying a conversation from 2017 like it’s evidence in a federal trial.
  • Analyzing someone’s punctuation like your life depends on whether they used a period instead of an exclamation point.
  • Creating 14 possible scenarios for something that hasn’t even happened.
  • Convincing yourself that “k” means the relationship is officially over. 😳
  • Lying in bed at 2 a.m. suddenly remembering something mildly embarrassing you did in eighth grade.

And the absolute audacity of the brain?

It calls all of this “problem solving.” 😂

Here’s the truth: sometimes there is nothing to figure out right now.

You don't need to solve tomorrow today.
You don't need to decode every silence.
You don't need to predict every possible outcome.
And you definitely don't need to hold a 47-person committee meeting inside your head over something that may never happen.

Try this instead:

Ask yourself:
“Is there something I can actually do about this right now?”

If YES → do the thing.

If NO → put it down.

Not forever. Just for now.

Because sometimes peace isn't found by finding one more answer.

Sometimes peace comes from saying:

“Well… I have officially thought about this enough.”

And then going to make a snack because apparently that's where we're at. 😂

Your brain deserves a day off too.

Even if it has to be dragged kicking and screaming into one. 🧠😂
