Who says Halloween dinner has to be all about chili, soup, and questionable amounts of candy? π
We're taking the ultimate comfort food—grilled cheese—and giving it a creepy little Halloween makeover.
Because honestly, everything tastes better when it has a face. π
π§♀️ Halloween Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of bread
- 8 slices of your favorite cheese — cheddar, American, provolone, or a combination
- 2–3 tbsp butter, softened
- Optional: tomato soup for dipping
- Optional: black olives or nori for decorating
π» Let's Make Some Monsters!
1. Build your sandwiches.
Butter one side of each slice of bread. Place cheese between the unbuttered sides.
2. Give them a face!
Before cooking, use a small cookie cutter or sharp knife to cut Halloween shapes into the top slice of bread.
Think:
- π Jack-o'-lantern
- π» Ghost
- π¦ Bat
- π·️ Spider
- π Skull
Want the cheese to ooze through the eyes and mouth?
GOOD. That's exactly what we're going for. π
3. Grill 'em up.
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and cook the sandwiches until golden brown and crispy on both sides and the cheese is gloriously melted.
Low and slow is your friend here. Nobody wants a beautifully carved sandwich with cheese that's still emotionally unavailable.
4. Make them extra spooky. π·️
Use tiny pieces of black olive or nori for eyes, spider legs, or little creepy details.
Serve alongside a bowl of tomato soup and you've got yourself a Halloween meal that's equal parts adorable and delicious.
π PRO TIP:
Want maximum Halloween points?
Serve the grilled cheese with tomato soup and call it “Blood & Brains.”
Because apparently giving dinner a creepy name makes it approximately 47% more fun to eat. π
Perfect for Halloween night, a kids' party, movie night, or just when you're an adult who refuses to believe you're too old to play with your food.
Save this one—you'll definitely want to make it October 31st! ππ§π»
