๐Ÿ‘ป Monster Mash Lasagna

A creepy-cute Halloween dinner that disappears faster than the candy!

Halloween dinner doesn't have to be boring.

And honestly, if the kids are going to spend the evening running around the neighborhood demanding candy from strangers, the least we can do is give them a fun dinner first. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Enter: Monster Mash Lasagna!

It's all the cheesy, saucy, comforting goodness of classic lasagna—but dressed up for Halloween with a few creepy-cute tricks.

๐Ÿง› What You'll Need

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 15 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Black olives
  • Pepperoni slices
  • Optional: fresh spinach for a little “monster slime”

๐Ÿ•ท️ Let's Make Some Magic

1. Make the meat sauce.
Brown the ground beef or sausage, drain it, then stir in the marinara sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes.

2. Make the cheesy filling.
Mix the ricotta, egg, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper together.

3. Layer it up.
Spread a little sauce in the bottom of a greased baking dish. Add noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat until you've used everything.

4. Now comes the fun part. ๐Ÿ‘€

Top the lasagna with mozzarella and turn it into a monster!

Use pepperoni slices to make big monster eyes, with black olive slices for the pupils.

Want to get extra creepy? Use thin strips of mozzarella to create monster teeth or spider-web designs across the top.

Feeling ambitious? Add black olive “spiders” crawling across the lasagna.

Because apparently we're decorating dinner now. ๐Ÿ˜‚

5. Bake.
Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

Let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

๐Ÿ‘ป Monster Tips

Want it extra Halloween-y?

๐Ÿงก Add a little orange food coloring to the ricotta mixture.

๐Ÿ–ค Use black olive slices to create creepy little spiders.

๐Ÿง€ Cut mozzarella into strips and make a mummy lasagna instead of a monster.

๐ŸŽƒ Serve it with garlic bread cut into pumpkin shapes.

๐Ÿ‘€ Let the kids decorate their own individual lasagna portions with “monster parts.”

๐Ÿ•ธ️ The Best Part?

It's still lasagna.

So while the kids are fascinated by the creepy monster face, you're secretly winning because they're eating dinner before they inhale approximately 47 pounds of Halloween candy.

That's what I call parenting with strategy. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Happy Halloween—and may your candy stash survive the night! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป
