My Mind Says 25. My Knees Have Filed an Appeal.

There’s a strange little scam that happens as we get older.

Your mind is still out here thinking you’re 25.

You hear a good song and suddenly you’re ready to stay out until 2 a.m., dance like nobody’s watching, make questionable decisions, and wake up the next morning like nothing happened.

Meanwhile, your body is standing in the corner like:

“Ma’am… are you sure about this?” 😂

Because apparently my mind didn’t get the memo.

My brain says, “We’ve still got it!”

My back says, “We have got NOTHING. Sit down.”

My mind says, “Let’s go do something spontaneous!”

My knees say, “Let’s not even get off the couch without a plan.”

And my body has apparently become the most brutally honest friend I’ve ever had.

The good news?

Getting older doesn’t mean you have to stop being young at heart. It just means you might need a little more stretching, hydration, recovery time, and a solid relationship with ibuprofen. 😂

You can still be adventurous.
You can still laugh until your stomach hurts.
You can still dance in the kitchen.
You can still try new things.
You can still be a little ridiculous.

Just maybe don’t try to prove you can still do what you did at 25.

Because your body has receipts.

And unlike your mind, it remembers EVERYTHING. 🤣

So here's to getting older without acting our age every single day.

Keep the youthful spirit.

Just respect the knees.
