Let’s talk about something nobody really teaches you when you’re growing up:
Not everybody needs a front-row seat to your life.
We live in a world where people document what they ate, where they went, what they bought, what they’re mad about, and occasionally what their neighbor’s cousin’s ex-boyfriend did in 2007. π
But there’s something to be said for moving a little differently.
You don’t have to announce every struggle.
You don’t have to prove every success.
You don’t have to explain every relationship.
And you definitely don’t have to hand everybody the blueprint to your life and then act shocked when somebody starts using it. π€·♀️
Here’s the thing…
Privacy isn’t secrecy.
There’s a difference between hiding your life and protecting your peace.
You can be proud of your children without turning their accomplishments into a public scoreboard.
You can have money without making your bank account a community announcement.
You can love somebody deeply without having a full-blown relationship summit in the middle of Walmart.
And yes… you can be annoyed with someone without immediately taking it to Facebook court. π
Because once something is said publicly, you don't get to control where it goes.
Screenshots exist.
Memories exist.
And apparently, Aunt Karen has the investigative skills of the FBI when she senses drama. π
And here’s the slightly savage part…
Everybody smiling at you isn't necessarily rooting for you.
Some people genuinely love you.
Some people tolerate you.
Some people compete with you.
Some people are simply bored and your life provides excellent entertainment.
Know the difference.
Protect your plans while they're still becoming reality.
Protect your relationships from unnecessary outside opinions.
Protect your children from unnecessary attention.
Protect your finances.
Protect your peace.
And most importantly…
Stop feeling obligated to explain yourself to people who aren't responsible for your life.
You don't have to broadcast every chapter.
Sometimes the best move is to quietly live your life, make your money, love your people, mind your business…
…and let everybody else wonder. π
Because not everything needs to be posted, explained, defended, or announced.
Some things are better kept between you, the people you trust, and God.
And honestly?
A little mystery looks good on everybody. π
