How to calm stress
What is the single most important thing that a person can do to learn how to calm stress? Stop sweating the small stuff!! Too often, we allow our own thoughts to stress us out.
A lot of people take their thoughts too seriously, start feeling worried all the time, think about them some more, analyze how difficult their own life has become, feel sorry for themselves and so forth. If you recognize what has just happened, you are aware that you've just had a mini "thought attack".
If you can change this way of relating to your thinking, you are going to be pleasantly suprised at how quickly and dramatically you will be able to reduce the stress in your whole life.
Thoughts are just images and ideas in your mind. They are like dreams- Only you are awake while having them. But with waking thoughts, you get to decide how seriously you want to take them.
When we are thinking, it's easy to lose sight of the fact that we think thoughts, not reality. It may seem strange, but most of us have a tendency to forget that we're thinking because it's something that we're always doing - like breathing. Until I just mentioned breathing, you probably weren't even consciously aware that you were breathing- were you? Thinking works in a similar way. It is such a part of us that we tend to give an enormous amount of significance and take very seriously most of the thoughts that drift through our mind. We begin to treat our thoughts as if they were the real thing, allowing them to stress us out.
Relax, take deep breaths and learn how to calm stress
Enjoy
