Creamy Avocado Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
4 slices of bread
1 ripe avocado
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons of butter, softened
1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (optional)
Addresses:
Preheat a frying pan to medium heat.
In a small bowl, mash the avocado with a fork until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
In another bowl, mix shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the other side of two slices, spreads a thin layer of mayonnaise.
Place the two slices of bread, mayonnaise down, in the pan.
Grease the avocado mash evenly on the pan bread, then sprinkle with garlic powder and onion powder.
Add a layer of the cheese mixture over the avocado and top with fresh basil leaves if you like.
Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, butter up.
Bake the sandwiches until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove from pan and let cool slightly before cutting and serving.
