I WAS AFRAID
✍🏻 Ernest Hemingway
I was afraid to be alone, until I learned to love myself.
I was afraid to fail, until I realized I can only succeed if I try.
I was afraid of what people think about me, until I understood they will always have opinions.
I was afraid of being rejected, until I realized my belief in myself is stronger.
I was afraid of pain, until I found out that pain is what I decide it to be… I can feel weak or become strong.
I was afraid of the truth, until I learned that truth helps me understand life.
I was afraid of death, until I learned that it is not the end, but a new beginning.
I was afraid of hate, until I realized it is just ignorance.
I was afraid of being laughed at, until I learned to laugh at myself and found it healthy.
I was afraid of getting old, until I saw that with age comes wisdom.
I was afraid of the past, until I realized the past helped me become who I am.
I was afraid of the dark, until I discovered my own light inside it.
I was afraid of change, until I saw that even the most beautiful butterfly must change before it can fly.
I was afraid of getting hurt, until the eagle showed me that some wounds help us grow.
I was afraid no one would love me, until I learned to love myself.
Then I understood how easy it is to be happy. 🤍🕊️🖤
